Who can hire the Play Centre?

The Haven Play Centre works as a shared community space. We provide the specialist setting, and groups, professionals and families bring the experience, support and connection that make each session what it needs to be.
The space is available to:

  • Disability charities and support organisations
  • Parent-led groups and informal meet-ups
  • Carer networks
  • Health and therapy professionals
  • Training and information sessions
  • Families seeking a safe space for in-service days or small gatherings (subject to suitability)

Booking and availability

The Play Centre operates on a pre-booked basis only.
This ensures:

  • A calm and manageable environment
  • Clear supervision arrangements
  • Appropriate numbers within the space
  • Privacy for each group during their session

All regular bookings are offered on a limited-term basis and reviewed to maintain fairness and responsiveness to demand.

Is the Play Centre a drop-in service?

The Play Centre itself operates on a pre-booked basis to help keep sessions safe, calm and well supported.

Some groups hiring the space may choose to run sessions that allow drop-in participation, but this will depend on the provider and the specific activity. Any details will always be shared clearly in advance.

A member of the Haven team will always be on-call while the building is open. However, each group booking the space is responsible for arranging appropriate supervision and support for their own session.

Yes, subject to availability and suitability. Families are welcome to enquire about using the space for small meet-ups, in-service days, birthday celebrations or informal gatherings.

Yes. The Haven Play Centre was designed as a specialist environment for children and young people with additional support needs. If you have specific access requirements, please include these in your enquiry and we’ll do our
best to support you.

You’re very welcome to use the café or reception area slightly before or after your session. Access to the Play Centre itself is available during your allocated booking time to ensure each group has full use of the space.
